The hourly rate for this position is $$40-44 plus a $2/hr premium for hours worked after 4pm per hour.

This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

What you’ll do

Position Overview

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Technician is responsible for effectively carrying out tasks associated with the predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance of all facility and production equipment. This position plays a key role in maintaining equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and supporting operational excellence within a manufacturing environment.

The successful candidate will perform electrical troubleshooting, repairs, equipment installations, and maintenance activities while supporting key corporate initiatives including the Eaton Lean System (ELSS), Eaton Business System (EBS), and the Eaton Management System for Environment, Health, Safety and Security (MESH).

This role requires a safety-focused, hands-on professional with strong electrical troubleshooting skills, industrial maintenance experience, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

In this function, you will:

  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production machinery, equipment, and facility systems.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment in accordance with manufacturer specifications and established maintenance schedules.
  • Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning machines, equipment, motors, drives, motor control circuits, sensors, relays, contactors, and small tools/parts.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot industrial electrical systems, including PLC-controlled equipment, automated systems, and Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs).
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and equipment drawings.
  • Install, commission, relocate, and decommission machinery and equipment in accordance with Management of Change (MOC) procedures.
  • Perform and document routine life safety system inspections and monthly fire alarm system checks in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and site procedures, including emergency power supply testing, manual pull station testing, panel status verification, and maintenance of required records and logbooks.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of maintenance strategies to improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF), and Mean Time to Repair (MTTR).
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date maintenance records utilizing approved CMMS software for all preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
  • Manage spare parts and maintenance inventory utilizing approved CMMS software and inventory management practices.
  • Perform basic building maintenance including minor painting, plumbing, and carpentry tasks as required.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives through participation in ELSS, EBS, Kaizen events, Rapid Improvement Events (RIEs), and root cause analysis activities.
  • Assist with the management and organization of the Maintenance Tool Crib.
  • Operate industrial vehicles and equipment used for material handling, machine moving, rigging, installation, and maintenance activities.
  • Respond effectively to equipment breakdowns and production support requests during the assigned shift.
  • Adhere to Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), PPE, Machine Guarding, ISO 9000 quality procedures, work instructions, and all facility environmental, health, safety, and security requirements.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment while actively identifying, reducing, and eliminating workplace hazards.
  • Collaborate effectively with Operations, Engineering, Production, and fellow Maintenance team members to improve equipment reliability and plant performance.

Qualifications

Basic requirement

  • Valid Red Seal Certificate (Electrician, Millwright, or Plumber/Gasfitter).
  • Proven analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience diagnosing and repairing industrial electrical systems and equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Proficiency with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).

Preferred

  • 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment and automated systems.
  • Working knowledge of LEAN manufacturing principles and Six Sigma tools.
  • Experience participating in Kaizen, RIE, or continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Familiarity with OEE, MTBF, and MTTR performance metrics.
  • Experience operating forklifts, aerial work platforms, and rigging equipment.

  • Availability to work evening shifts, overtime, and occasional weekend coverage as required.
