Under the supervision of the production coordinator/supervisor, the incumbent of this position is responsible for handling the customer's steel parts before and after galvanizing.

Responsibilities

Racking

  • Organize your workspace according to the parts to be handled.
  • Frequently handle parts weighing between 5 lbs and 50 lbs.
  • Unpack the equipment the customer has brought.
  • Visualize the different parts to be hung and choose the best hanging method.
  • Select the hanging equipment for the parts, such as: clamps, chains, combs, etc.

Unracking

  • Organize your workspace according to the parts to be handled.
  • Unhang the parts, either by removing the chains or cutting the pins that attach the steel parts.
  • Frequently handle parts weighing between 5 lbs and 50 lbs.
  • Select the finishing equipment for the parts: grinder, files, various zinc paints.
  • Touch up equipment with quality defects.
  • Stack the galvanized parts on pallets, in barrels, or on trailers.
  • Pack the parts for shipment to the customer.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of the various tools used (grinder, pliers, file, etc.)
  • Good physical condition.
  • Ability to work on the ground or on ladders to finish parts.
  • Ability to stand for 8 hours.
  • Ability to work in a team.
  • Ability to handle and lift parts weighing between 5 and 50 lbs.

Terms

  • Salary: $22.08 /hour (+ Afternoon/Night shift premium)
  • Number of hours: 40 hours per week
  • Shift: Afternoon ( 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM) Night (11:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
