About the Branch
The Policy Branch develops policies administered by the department and provides policy advice to senior management, including the Minister and other decision makers to develop and attain the department’s strategic goals. The branch is focused on conducting research and analysis in support of legislative and regulatory initiatives, facilitating full cycle program development, review and evaluation services, and coordinating the support of activities with the Ministers Office.
About The Position
The Policy Analyst works in a branch that provides policy services to the Department of Community Services. This position is responsible for policy (including program, corporate and legislative) planning and development, research and analysis, strategic planning and management, and program evaluation.

Essential Qualifications
Please submit your resume clearly demonstrating how you meet the following qualifications. - Experience conducting research, analyzing data, and communicating complex ideas;
- Experience leading multiple complex, multi-stage projects;
- Experience providing well-reasoned recommendations to decision-makers;
- Experience developing policies, directives, and/or guidelines; and
- Experience engaging in government to government consultation.
Candidates with an equivalent combination of education and experience will be equally considered.
Desired Knowledge, Skills and Suitability:
Candidates should have, and may be assessed on, their:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to write and speak in plain language;
- Strong organizational and planning skills;
- Ability to manage project work teams and work in a team environment;
- Ability to take initiative and work independently;
- Experience working with external consultants and managing contracts;
- Experience leading a team will be considered an asset; and
- Knowledge of and experience in both urban and rural Yukon will be considered an asset.
