In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.

Alberta Health Services (AHS) is now seeking such a person for the role of Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) at the new, state-of-the-art Grande Prairie Regional Hospital, which opened in 2021. As a Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) I, you will perform a variety of standard technical radiological imaging examinations on patients for the purpose of disease and pathology diagnosis. You will interpret physician requisitions, prepare and assess patients for examination and produce high quality diagnostic images for Physician/Radiologist review, and assist with the care and maintenance of equipment. Your work may include a variety of procedures such as general and portable radiography, mobile and surgical suite examinations, as well as fluoroscopy where required.

Required Qualifications

Completion of diploma from an accredited Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) program. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications

Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively liaise with physicians, nurses, allied health staff, and other hospital departments. Evidence of effective decision making and collaboration working with others in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with Connect Care or other electronic health record systems. Previous experience in a Regional Hospital setting.
