St. Albert Public Schools is currently recruiting a Full Time, Probationary , Administrative Assistant 5 (AA5) for a work assignment at Wild Rose Elementary School.

Hours of Work : 35 . 0 hrs. /week; 7.0 hrs. /day; Monday-Friday; Full Time, Probationary
Hourly Rate: $27.43 per hour, as per the CUPE Collective Agreement
Specific Needs/Requirements for this position
- This is a single (1) Administrative Assistant (AA5) position within the school, with no additional AA positions assigned to this site.
- Knowledge of and experience with PowerSchool is required.
- Experience with Rycor and Atrieve is considered an asset.
- Ability to create and maintain a positive and welcoming environment for students, parents, colleagues, and visitors is essential.
- This position works directly with school administration to support school financial operations and serves as the primary resource for financial-related matters within the school. In consultation with the principal, responsibilities include monitoring the school budget, ensuring accuracy, and verifying that expenditures are properly coded and allocated.
- The successful candidate must be self-motivated, accurate, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.
- Strong interpersonal skills are required to build and maintain effective working relationships with teachers, students, parents, and the community.
- A high level of concentration and accuracy is required for recordkeeping. Work outside of normal office hours may be required at peak times, including the beginning and end of the school year. Occasional time away from the office may be required to purchase and pick up supplies from vendors.
- Previous experience working in a school setting is considered an asset.
- A high level of professionalism and confidentiality is required due to regular interaction with students and families, including those in sensitive or vulnerable situations.
- Preferred qualifications include completion of Grade 12, supplemented by post-secondary education in accounting or office administration, along with a minimum of five (5) years of directly related office and accounting experience.
