Porter Creek Secondary School team. PCSS is a comprehensive

excellence in Athletics, Arts and Academics. This position provides the opportunity
to join a dynamic, inclusive, staff team dedicated to student success. PCSS

First Nations to deliver on the promise of an education based on care. This 1.0 FTE teaching role will involve teaching Physical Education 8 & 9, and Careers 10.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Please clearly
demonstrate on your cover letter and resume, how you meet the following
- Bachelor of Education or equivalent
- Recent experience teaching at the secondary level
- Experience planning, organizing and teaching secondary students in hands-on experiential programs or courses;
- Experience adapting and delivering programming through a variety of instructional interventions and adaptations that will help all students succeed;
- Undergraduate or graduate courses in Physical Education would be an asset
DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND SUITABILITY:
Candidates should
- Superior
classroom management, planning and organizational skills;
- Willingness and ability
to teach all relevant Learning Standards and foster an experiential
learning philosophy;
- Ability to adapt and
modify curriculum to meet a range of learning abilities while
incorporating cultural values and traditions into curricular components;
- Excellent communication
and interpersonal skills working with students, parents, administration
and other staff members;
- Ability to
differentiate instruction using current assessment for learning pedagogy
and practice.
- Willingness and ability
to work as a member of a professional team to promote and work
collaboratively to support school initiatives and the total school
program;
- A knowledge and
sensitivity to the culture and aspirations of First Nations people of
Yukon and a culturally diverse student population.

This is a
designated position within the Yukon public service which requires the
following condition(s) of employment:
- Criminal Record/RCMP

employment, dated no more than 3 months prior to your start date
- Yukon Teacher
