PSYCHOLOGIST (100%) REPLACEMENT

Applications are invited for this temporary full-time replacement position, starting on July 1st, 2026. The successful candidate will be a member of the Complementary Services team and will be responsible to the Director of Complementary Services.

We are currently a team of 4 full-time equivalent dedicated psychologists. We meet regularly to review literature, hold case discussions, and plan initiatives to better support the school teams we collaborate with. We are members of a professional network and actively participate in multidisciplinary team meetings.

ASSIGNMENT

The successful candidate will work with school teams to detect and identify students experiencing difficulties. Our team focuses on prevention, intervention and evaluation to determine the student’s social emotional or intellectual and academic needs. Using standardized psychometric tools psychologists conduct interviews, make observations, and as needed they analyze and interpret the collected data. Our objective is to support our students in their educational path and their personal and social development.

All members of the complementary services team work as part of a multidisciplinary team to develop professional action plans and to contribute to the development of a student’s individualized education plan (IEP). Psychologists contribute by helping to coordinate interventions and to assess the achievement of objectives. This may include:

  • Work with students, parents, and teachers to identify difficulties and explore solutions
  • Recommend outside support services and resources
  • Develop a professional intervention plan
  • Provide consultative services to school team members to better support and understand the student’s needs and behaviors
  • Prepare progress reports, evaluations and may pose a diagnosis
  • Offer support to help defuse crisis or emergency situations and to propose solutions
  • Help teams to integrate students in specialized and non-specialized classroom environments
  • Work with individual and small groups of students

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Be a member of the Ordre des psychologues du Québec.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be fluent in English and French, both in oral and written.
  • Experience in a school setting as a member of a multidisciplinary team would be an asset;
  • Experience working with students with severe behavioural difficulties would be an asset;

ANNUAL SALARY

In accordance with the Professionals’ Agreement: $59, 282 to $110, 674 per 35-hour week, according to qualifications and experience.
