Director of Facilities & Sustainability -Permanent Full-Time

The District of Squamish is seeking an experienced leader to join our Senior Leadership Team as the Director of Facilities & Sustainability. This is a unique opportunity to lead the long-term strategic civic facility plans for the District and play a pivotal role in the growth and development of Squamish. The Director is also responsible for the District's overall facility-related asset management program.

In addition, this role provides strategic oversight for the District’s Sustainability team, leading environmental stewardship, waste management, and community focused climate action initiatives.

The successful candidate will be a collaborative, future-focused leader who thrives in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment and is committed to building a resilient, livable community.

What we’re looking for

• Bachelor’s degree and/or advanced certification in Engineering, Facilities Management, Building or a capital project management-related field
• Project Management Certification or equivalent
• 8 years of progressive responsibility working in facility planning, development and construction projects
• 5 years of leadership/management experience
• Experience managing in a unionized environment is considered an asset
