Institutional Planning Coordinator (Term)

The Opportunity

Keyano College’s Executive Department is currently seeking an Institutional Planning Coordinator to join our dynamic team. The Institutional Planning Coordinator supports the development, coordination, and execution of the College’s business planning process. Working closely with ELT (Executive Leadership Team) and the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), this role helps translate institutional priorities into structured plans, supports SLT initiative leads in developing and working on initiatives, and coordinates tracking and reporting throughout the year.

This is a coordination and support role, ideal for a candidate with strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills, and interested in, project coordination and oversight, and working closely with senior leaders. This is a Term position, expected to start by August 4, 2026, and ending on or before July 31, 2027.

Note: this is not a remote or hybrid work opportunity, you will be required to work on campus and relocate to Fort McMurray, AB.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provides support with the development of the annual SLT business planning process, including timelines, templates, documentation, reports and coordinating activities.
  • Assist with consolidating ELT direction into draft and SLT business plan objectives.
  • Coordinate and support strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment across departments and stakeholders
  • Maintain a centralized tracking system for SLT initiatives and provide regular status updates and progress reports to senior leadership.
  • Facilitate problem resolution and ensure compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and legislative requirements.
  • Support the accountability process by keeping action logs updated, reminding action owners of timelines and assisting in the completion of those actions on time.
  • Strong project coordination, planning, organization, and follow-up skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, anticipate needs, and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Flag risks, delays, or dependencies and escalate them appropriately.

  • Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Management, Business Administration or related discipline is preferred; a diploma may be considered with an appropriate level of experience
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Power BI/database skills is essential.
  • PMP certification is considered an asset.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Experience in strategic planning, project coordination, and working closely with senior leaders is required.
  • Must be a self-starter, multi-tasker and work well under pressure and with tight deadlines.
  • Proven independent judgment and experience dealing with confidential or sensitive issues.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • Courteous, tactful and diplomatic in dealing with people.
  • Proven track record of providing a high standard of customer service to various levels of an organization.
  • Must be thorough, detail-oriented, with strong analytical and reporting skills.
  • Strong English written and communication skills.
