THE POSITION

Events East Group is now inviting applications for the position of Event Attendant with our Guest Experience team.

Reporting to the Guest Experience Manager, the Event Attendant is responsible for delivery of the guest experience strategy. Event Attendants act as venue ambassadors throughout the customer journey from the first welcome to the final thank you for attending. The Event Attendant assists with venue navigation and ensures guest adherence to policies and safety measures. They share knowledge about the event and venue and work as part of the larger operational team to provide exceptional customer service. Flexibility is essential, as shift scheduling is based on events and operational needs.

THE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Operations

Welcome all guests with an open and friendly demeanor, fostering positive relationships and addressing guest needs to enhance their experience.

Enhance the guest experience by listening actively, anticipating needs, and offering support before it is requested.

Respond to guest questions and requests with a service-first mindset, addressing needs to the best of your ability and communicating with the appropriate leader when additional support is required.

Offer respectful and proactive assistance to guests who require accessibility support or other accommodations.

Adapt to changing operational needs by providing coverage across multiple roles within a shift, ensuring consistent service throughout events (e.g., scanning tickets at entry, then monitoring activity during the event).

Remain attentive to evolving event needs, working with shift leaders to complete assigned work while being considerate of the event environment.

Collaborate with leadership to ensure all relevant information is available for effective decision-making and successful event delivery.

Support the safe and efficient movement of guests at entrances, exits, and throughout events, including at security checkpoints.

Contribute to safety procedures, including emergency response and evacuation efforts, as directed.

Collaborate respectfully with team members to ensure smooth daily operations.

Maintain professional conduct, including reliability, readiness to work, and adherence to personal hygiene and grooming standards

Perform other duties as required.

Training & Development

Obtain and maintain all certifications required by the organization and applicable regulations to support operational readiness and compliance.

Engage in learning opportunities to support ongoing development and adaptability to operational needs.

Support continuous improvement by adopting new methods, technologies, and practices to enhance operational effectiveness.

Contribute thoughtfully to team discussions, training opportunities, and departmental initiatives to support a collaborative and effective work environment.

Health & Safety

Adhere to all departmental standards, guidelines, and procedures to ensure the safety of oneself, team members, and guests.

Report safety hazards, near misses, and incidents promptly, taking appropriate action to address hazards when safe, and actively participating in the investigation process.

Wear, use, and ensure the appropriate use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required, re-porting any violations or damaged PPE within the team or onsite.

THE PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

High School Diploma or educational equivalent considered an asset.

A minimum of one year of experience in customer service will be considered an asset.

Experience engaging with diverse populations and demonstrating sensitivity to varied guests and team needs.

Experience in high-traffic environments with a proven ability to stay focused and perform under pressure.

Availability to work variable shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on operational requirements.

Ability to work effectively in a busy event environment that requires moving throughout the venue, including ascending and descending stairs multiple times per shift, standing for extended periods of time, and working in variable conditions, including loud noise, heights, and dark or dim lighting.

Ability to meet other physical requirements associated with the safe and effective performance of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
