Senior Robotics Integrator – Welding Automation

Position Overview

TetraGen Robotics is seeking a highly experienced Senior Robotics Integrator – Welding Automation to lead the integration, deployment, and optimization of advanced robotic welding systems.

This is a senior technical leadership role that combines hands-on robotic integration, customer-facing project execution, and support of sales and applications engineering activities.

Key Responsibilities

Robotic System Integration

  • Lead the integration, commissioning, optimization, and troubleshooting of robotic welding automation cells.
  • Program and troubleshoot industrial robots, particularly FANUC robotic systems.
  • Integrate robotic welding packages including TouchSense, TAST, and Coordinated Motion.
  • Configure and optimize MIG welding processes.
  • Work with Fronius, Lincoln Electric, and Miller welding equipment.
  • Select, integrate, and program laser and vision technologies.
  • Program and troubleshoot Allen-Bradley PLC systems.
  • Develop and maintain robot programs.

Mechanical Design & Automation Development

  • Robotic cell layout and system design.
  • Design welding jigs, fixtures, and workholding solutions.
  • Design and integrate pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical components for robot cells.

Customer Deployment & Support

  • Lead pilot projects, FATs, and SATs.
  • Perform and lead on-site installation, commissioning, startup, and training activities.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for deployed robotic systems.

Sales & Applications Support

  • Support technical proposals, robot simulations, cycle time analysis, quotations, customer demonstrations, and technical presentations.
  • Assist in evaluating new customer applications and automation opportunities.

Leadership & Continuous Improvement

  • Establish integration standards and best practices.
  • Mentor and support junior integrators and technicians.
  • Contribute to product development and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

Required:

  • 5+ years of experience integrating robotic automation systems, particularly robotic arc welding cells.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with industrial robots, particularly FANUC robots.
  • Strong understanding of robotic MIG welding processes and weld parameter selection.
  • Experience with TouchSense, TAST, Weave, and Coordinated Motion.
  • Experience with welding machines, e.g. Fronius, Lincoln Electric, and Miller.
  • Experience with PLC programming, particularly Allen-Bradley PLCs.
  • Experience with offline robot programming.
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, and customer-facing skills.
  • Willingness to travel for customer installation and support.

Additional Qualifications (preferred but not required):

  • Familiarity with YASKAWA, KUKA, and ABB robots.
  • Background in weld engineering.
  • Experience designing welding fixtures and workholding systems.
  • Experience with machine vision, seam tracking, or AI-assisted robotic applications.
