YOUR FOCUS
Reporting to the Associate Dean of Undergraduate Programs, the Coordinator will provide all program coordinating elements of the BEd Online and BEd Skilled Trades Education program. The Coordinator will oversee all aspects of the BEd Online and BEd Skilled Trades Education programs including program application and admissions, course roll-out, recruitment and hiring of instructors, facilitate practica, and provide clear communication online support to students.
Coordinate the delivery of the BEd Online and BEd Skilled Trades Education programs, including admissions, course roll-out, practica, and student support.
Advise students on program requirements, course selection, and academic planning through individual and group sessions.
Conduct regular student check-ins and connect students with academic, personal, cultural, and university support services.
Support students experiencing academic or personal challenges and provide guidance on university policies, procedures, and resources.
Maintain student records, registration systems, program plans, and program statistics.
Generate reports and manage student data using Colleague, Informer 5, XAM9, and waitlist management tools.
Collaborate on course scheduling and timetabling.
Manage admissions processes, including application reviews, transfer credit assessments, and communication with the Admissions Office.
Organize and deliver virtual orientations and complete program audits to monitor student progress and graduation eligibility.
Liaise with New Brunswick Teacher Certification and provide graduate eligibility information.
Coordinate practicum placements, agreements, registrations, waitlists, and supervisor assignments.
Support practicum supervisors and promote consistent practicum experiences.
Review practicum evaluations and submit final CR or NCR grades.
Participate in issue resolution related to courses and practica.
Recommend school placements and assign appropriate practicum supervisors.
Coordinate practicum placement agreements with school districts and the Partnerships Office.
Support and guide practicum supervisors to promote consistent practicum experiences.
Manage practicum waitlists and course registrations.
Participate in issue resolution related to courses and practica.
Guide students in accessing university services and supports.
Coordinate graduation reception planning, logistics, and recognition activities.
Manage appreciation gifts and payment processes for practicum teachers and supervisors.
Other duties as assigned by the Associate Dean and Dean.
WHAT YOU BRING
Bachelor's degree in a related field.
Experience in undergraduate education program coordination.
Additional Strengths
Experience working with UNB systems such as Informer 5, Colleague.
Working knowledge of the NB education system is necessary, knowledge of other education systems is an asset.
Excellent technology skills (MS office suite, Zoom).
Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational, administrative, and problem-solving skills, especially in working with students.
High level of attention to detail and high degree of patience are essential.
