POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Logistics Supervisor, the incumbent is responsible for delivering, stocking and maintaining inventory with the use of computerized inventory and asset control systems. Conducting preventativemaintenance programs according Standards medical equipment, such as oxygen regulators, suction equipment and all conveyance equipment. Also will provide operational support through deployment of vehicles and specialty equipment. Will conduct minor repairto vehicles, facilities and property (i.e. cot-light bulb replacement, calibration/adjustment to equipment, hose repairs/replacements, communication equipment, laptops, GPS, etc.) Assist and provide input into working groups on Logistics related projects.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (not listed in order of priority)
- Assist Logistics Supervisor with input to projects, project charters and with project objectives, approach, scope, and deliverables
- Assist Logistics Supervisor in conducting the roll out of new products into the service including initial supply, continued supply, and delivery to all Paramedic stations and units.
QUALITY ASSURANCE
- Inspect, test andperform minor repairs to equipment. Determine suitability for repair, replacement or decommission.
- Perform preventative maintenance based on standards for various equipment including but not limited to all conveyance, oxygen and suction devices.
- Assist and report to the Logistic Supervisor compliance related to medical supplies and equipment in paramedic and response units, as per current standards.
SUPPLY MANAGEMENT
- Complete, and report on, weekly, monthly and annual inventory volumes.
- Rotate supplies that have an expiry date to maximize lifecycle and reduce spoilage.
- Assist the Logistics Supervisor in establishing inventory threshold toensure all station and medical supplies and patient care equipment are maintained at an acceptable level in each station and in central stores.
- Deliver station inventory orders to each station throughout the County of Simcoe as per the schedule
- Resolve urgent inventory requests, vehicle or equipment adjustments while remaining focused on operational requirements.
- Receive ancillary equipment, medical, office and operational supplies.
- Assist the Logistics Supervisor with input to optimize station stockrooms workflow and layouts.
- Respond to mass casualty incidents (MCI’s) with required additional supplies for the care and treatment of patients as part of the logistics response during an Incident Command Structure situation.
- Reduce equipment depletion and replacement via partnerships with surrounding Paramedic services for equipment repatriation.
- Assist in inventory counts.
ADMINISTRATION
- Maintains Logistics filing and provides accurate records of inventory, matching invoices/shipping receipts for auditing purposes, biohazard disposal, expired medication disposal etc.
- Review with Supervisor Logistics related issues or concerns reported though the Service Request System (SRS) for priority action.
- Ensure all station and storage facilities are in safe working condition, identifying and addressing deficiencies, reporting and following up with Logistics Supervisor as required.
- Comply with Provincial and County occupational health and safety legislation, regulations, policies and procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality and privacy of information as per The Municipal Freedom of Information Protection and Privacy Act (MFIPPA), The Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA), Personal Information and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and in accordance with County of Simcoe Policies and Procedures.
- Attends and participates in scheduled meetings when required.
- Performs other duties as assigned, including redeployment in emergency situations.

EDUCATION, TECHNICAL SKILLS AND CERTIFICATION
- Possession of a Secondary School Graduation Diploma, with post-secondary training in inventory control preferred. This job may be considered for educational equivalency in accordance with County Policy.
- The ability to successfully complete and obtain certification in stretcher and conveyance equipment maintenance repair training and the oxygen delivery and approved system maintenance repair training within 90 days of commencement of employment.
- Valid G class drivers license and access to reliable vehicle. Must demonstrate the ability to maneuver a trailer within 30 days of the commencement of employment.
- Possess and maintain a valid Basic Rescuer CPR and First Aid certificate or possess the ability to successfully obtain such within 30 days of employment.
- Computer literacy utilizing MS Office software applications including word processing and spreadsheet applications and ability to use other applications as required.
- Good organizational and communication skills.

- Clear Criminal Records Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening that is within one month of hire.
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of one (1) year experience in material handling and inventory control including shipping, receiving and related financial processes.
- Experience in light mechanical repair, and equipment maintenance would be an asset
- Understanding of 24 hour operations.
- Working with medical supplies and equipment is an asset.
- SAP or comparable electronic inventory management system is an asset.
- Knowledge of industry related Provincial Acts and Regulations according to the MOH-LTC Equipment Standards.
- Experience in working within a unionized environment
EFFORT
- Must be physically capable of handling, carrying, loading and unloading heavy supplies and equipment independently of up to 50 lbs.
- Pushing, pulling, loading, overhead reaching and lifting various weights
- Varying time completing computer work.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Ability to work nights and weekend shifts, as required.
- Will be required to travel within Simcoe County on a daily basis and across the GTA as indicated.
- Extensive driving in all types of weather conditions to all Paramedic Services facilities
- Ability to work safely with the proper use of P.P.E. for the purpose of cleaning and reprocessing medical equipment
