Reporting to the Executive Director, the Divisional Business Analyst plans, assesses, elicits, analyzes, designs, communicates and validates requirements for changes to the Correctional Offender Management System (COMS), the Multi-Health System (MHS), and more than 30 other in-house computer systems within the Correctional Services Division. The Analyst takes a lead role in supervising members of the business analyst team and has a dual reporting responsibility to the Executive Director and the Manager of Information Systems within Corporate and Strategic Services Division.

Essential:

  • Degree, diploma, or certificate in Information Systems, Business Analysis, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in business analysis.
  • Experience eliciting, documenting, and managing business requirements for technology-related projects.
  • Experience supervising staff including establishing work priorities, schedules and addressing performance management concerns.
  • Experience leading and coordinating user acceptance testing (UAT), including: developing test plans, designing and executing test scripts, and managing test cycles and reporting results.
  • Experience developing user training materials and providing training to a variety of stakeholders.
  • Strong problem solving skills with the ability to analyze complex issues and develop effective, practical solutions.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to present to a variety of stakeholders.
  • Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise, and well-structured documentation.

Desired:

  • Experience working with technology providers to review and improve existing systems.
  • Experience working with Correctional Offender Management System (COMS) or similar software.

Conditions of Employment:

  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Must provide and maintain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check.
  • Must provide and maintain a satisfactory Child and Adult Abuse Registry Checks.
  • Must complete an enhanced security screening.
  • Must be able to work overtime including weekend and evenings.
  • Must be able to travel to remote locations with overnight stays.
