Canadian Executive Search Group Inc is seeking an experienced Engineer for a local automotive client

Essential Job Functions

  • Develop, estimate, and implement assembly tooling and automation equipment for manufacturing projects.
  • Evaluate, estimate, and obtain quotations for new assembly processes and equipment as business requirements evolve.
  • Develop robotic simulations and perform offline robot programming.
  • Assist in designing efficient manufacturing layouts and product flow strategies that support quality, productivity, safety, and cost objectives.
  • Participate in the planning, execution, and implementation of manufacturing and automation projects.
  • Review customer requirements and determine the most effective processes to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Gather, evaluate, and summarize supplier proposals while participating in vendor selection activities.
  • Develop engineering solutions to eliminate process and product non-conformities.
  • Create and maintain project plans, timelines, budgets, and process documentation.
  • Monitor project performance and report results using data-driven analysis and key performance indicators.
  • Support project teams throughout all phases of project execution.
  • Prepare and present reports detailing project progress, risks, and corrective actions.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, contractors, and stakeholders.
  • Manage supplier performance and project deliverables.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Define project objectives and scope while engaging all relevant stakeholders.
  • Manage project changes using appropriate verification and change management techniques.
  • Measure and report project performance using established tools and methodologies.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Escalate critical issues and provide recommendations to management when necessary.
  • Research and evaluate emerging technologies to support innovation and manufacturing excellence.

Qualifications

Education

Associate Degree or equivalent experience in:

    • Electrical Engineering
    • Industrial Electronics
    • Robotics
    • Electrical Controls
    • Automation
    • Metallurgy
  • College-level coursework in Industrial Manufacturing or significant manufacturing experience will also be considered.

Experience

  • Experience in Project Management and Manufacturing Process Engineering.
  • Automotive manufacturing experience in stamping, welding, assembly, and automation environments.
  • Knowledge of MIG welding, resistance welding, laser welding, robotic systems, and vision systems.
  • Machine controls experience and troubleshooting knowledge.
  • Experience in risk management and change management.
  • Experience managing vendors, contractors, and capital equipment projects.
  • Understanding of project management principles and methodologies.
  • Experience with project management software.
  • Proven ability to evaluate and select suppliers and vendors.
  • Experience supporting team leadership and strategic planning initiatives.
  • Continuous improvement and employee engagement experience.
  • Experience with custom machinery or automation system builders is considered an asset.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Root cause analysis and corrective action experience.

Technical Skills

  • Strong understanding of automotive manufacturing processes and operations.
  • Knowledge of metal materials, tooling, die design, maintenance, stamping, welding, and assembly processes.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
  • Experience with:
    • SolidWorks
    • NX
    • AutoCAD
    • Inventor
    • Robotic simulation and offline programming software
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
