Contract Operator – Westlock / Athabasca Region

Flywheel Resources is seeking an experienced Contract Operator to support our operations in the Westlock and Athabasca region of Alberta.

We are looking for an operator who takes ownership of their assets, demonstrates a commitment to regulatory compliance, and understands that safety is not a program—it is the foundation of how we work every day. Our operators play a critical role in protecting people, the environment, our communities, and the long-term value of our assets.

Key Responsibilities

• Safe and efficient operation of heavy oil wells & treating facilities
• Ensuring compliance with regulations, company standards, and industry best practices
• Monitoring & optimization of production, equipment performance, and operating costs
• Identifying and addressing operational, environmental, and integrity risks before they become issues
• Proactively supporting maintenance activities, inspections, and production optimization initiatives
• Maintaining accurate field data, operating records, and documentation
• Contributing to a culture of accountability, teamwork, continuous improvement, and operational excellence

Qualifications

• Oil and gas operations experience in production facilities and field operations
• Strong understanding of regulatory, environmental, and asset integrity requirements
• Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices, hazard identification & controls
• Ability to work independently while maintaining strong communication with the operations team
