We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable (AP) Administrator to manage invoice processing, payment preparation, and vendor relations. This role ensures timely and accurate payments while maintaining strong internal controls and handling employee expense reports. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and is dedicated to maintaining efficient and accurate accounts payable operations. It is also a training ground for an aspiring accountant. This role will report to the Senior Manager, Property Services.

Day-to-day responsibilities include

  • Manage invoice receipt, distribution for approval, and input into the accounting system
  • Prepare and process weekly cheque runs via electronic fund transfer, wires, and bill pay
  • Monitor accounts to ensure payments are current and resolve discrepancies with vendors and internal staff
  • Correspond with vendor inquiries professionally and promptly
  • Prepare and process employee expense reports
  • Verify vendor data are correct
  • Reconcile GL accounts pertaining to accounts payable
  • Perform month-end closing tasks related to accounts payable
  • Support audit requirements by providing documentation
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in AP function
  • Perform other administrative tasks as assigned
  • Perform other accounting tasks as assigned

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Minimum 1 year accounting experience (preferred)
  • Knowledge of accounting and controls (preferred)
  • Detail oriented and strong time management skills
  • Strong organizational skills and prioritizing
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must possess a team-oriented approach to meeting goals and objectives

  • Strong excel skills
  • Bank reconciliations
