POSTING # 26-06-10
POSITION TYPE FULL-TIME (Mon – Fri, with one Saturday shift per month)
(8:30 am – 4:30 pm with a 12 pm – 8 pm shift once per week)
Background
As a member of the Community Helper team, you will be responsible for providing services to children, youth, and families residing primarily in the neighbourhood catchment area, in partnership with residents and other community-based agencies. Working knowledge of computer programs and ability to input data daily; must be able to work occasional evenings and Saturdays.
Qualifications
- Initiate, develop, and implement programs and services to address the specific needs of the neighbourhood.
- Experience working with community structures and community development processes.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with Indigenous and Non Indigenous organizations.
- Must possess excellent advocacy skills.
- Strong written/keyboarding skills.
- Microsoft Word program knowledge.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Must be willing to be a team player.
- Ability to work with a high level of independence.
- Respectful in engaging people and building helping relationships.
- Strong motivational and leadership skills.
- Valid Manitoba driver’s license and access to a vehicle would be an asset.
- Must provide a current (within the last three months) Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector search, Child Abuse Registry Check and be subject to a Prior Contact Check.
