Broch Builders Inc. — Calgary, AB
About Broch Builders
Broch Builders is a Calgary-based home builder and developer delivering custom infill and multi-unit residential projects across the city. We currently have over $10 million in active fixed-price construction contracts underway, with a growing portfolio of long-hold rental assets built under CMHC's MLI Select program. As an owner-operated builder, we move fast, hold ourselves to a high standard of quality, and are scaling toward larger purpose-built rental development.
The Role
We're looking for a hands-on, detail-oriented Site Supervisor to oversee day-to-day construction activities across our active builds. Reporting directly to ownership, you'll be responsible for keeping projects on schedule, on budget, and built to code — from excavation through to substantial completion and occupancy.
This is a role with real authority on site. You'll be the person trades, inspectors, and suppliers deal with daily, and your judgment calls will directly shape build quality and timeline.
Responsibilities
*Oversee daily site activities across active projects, ensuring work conforms to approved plans, specifications, and the Alberta Building Code / NBC (Alberta Edition)
*Schedule and coordinate trades and subcontractors to keep builds on track from excavation through substantial completion
*Conduct regular site inspections and quality control audits at each construction milestone
*Maintain job site safety and OH&S compliance, identifying and addressing hazards proactively
*Track progress against the master schedule, flagging delays, deficiencies, or budget risks early
*Liaise with municipal inspectors and coordinate permit/inspection scheduling
*Keep job sites clean, organized, and secure
*Maintain daily site logs and progress documentation (including photos) for ownership and lender progress-draw reporting
*Coordinate material deliveries with suppliers to match the construction schedule
*Support deficiency resolution and lead final walkthroughs ahead of occupancy or lease-up
Qualifications
*3+ years supervising residential or multi-unit construction sites, ideally in Alberta
*Working knowledge of the Alberta Building Code and NBC (Alberta Edition)
*Strong trade coordination and scheduling ability
*Comfortable managing multiple active sites independently
*Strong written and verbal communication — daily logs, coordination with trades, inspectors, and ownership
*Valid driver's license
*Experience with infill, multi-unit, or basement suite construction is an asset
What Broch Offers
*Direct exposure to a fast-growing, owner-operated builder with real decision-making responsibility
*Hands-on involvement across multiple concurrent projects, not a single-site role
*Opportunity to grow with the company as it scales into larger purpose-built rental development
