The Campbellton Regional Community is seeking an experienced professional to join its team as Assistant Clerk.
This opportunity is ideal for someone who takes pride in bringing structure, organization and sound judgment to important administrative processes and community-focused initiatives.
More than a traditional administrative role, this position offers the opportunity to work at the heart of municipal administration, collaborate closely with senior leadership and elected officials, and contribute directly to the effective operation of Municipal Council and the Clerk's Office.
The Clerk's Office plays a vital role in municipal government. It supports the activities of Municipal Council, manages official records and ensures compliance with a wide range of legislative, regulatory and procedural requirements.
Requirements
HOW YOU WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE
As Assistant Clerk, you will play an important role in supporting Municipal Council and helping ensure the effective operation of the Clerk's Office.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning, preparing and coordinating Municipal Council and committee meetings;
- Preparing agendas, recording proceedings and assisting with the preparation and review of meeting minutes;
- Managing and maintaining by-laws, resolutions, public notices and other official records;
- Organizing, preserving and providing access to municipal records and documentation;
- Coordinating various administrative and regulatory processes;
- Working closely with elected officials, citizens, municipal staff and external stakeholders;
- Contributing to the coordination of Clerk's Office activities;
- Coordinating, as required, certain activities related to the Clerk's Office.
WHAT YOU BRING
You are a proactive, dependable and highly organized professional who is comfortable managing multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy, discretion and professionalism.
Recognized for your initiative, sound judgment and attention to detail, you thrive in environments where confidentiality, accountability and effective follow-through are essential.
You also bring:
- Significant experience in administrative coordination, office management, executive support or a role involving similar responsibilities;
- Post-secondary education in administration, office administration, legal administration, records management or a related field;
- Excellent communication skills in both English and French, written and spoken;
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office;
- The ability to manage multiple priorities with professionalism, discretion and efficiency.
