Social Media & Community Manager

Rare Americans is hiring a Social Media & Community Manager!

We're the creators of an animated universe. To date, we've made 7 albums, a short film, an award-winning feature-length movie, received a Juno nomination, and most importantly, we've built a large and loyal fanbase across the world. We have exciting times ahead with some fun projects planned, and are looking for a creative individual to help us manage and grow it all.

DETAILS

Role Type: Full-time, contract to start with the possibility of joining the team longer term.

Location: Based out of our West Vancouver studio

Salary: The target salary range for this role is $55,000 - $75,000. The exact salary will be based on skill level, experience, and qualifications.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

Social Media

• Managing and posting across all major content platforms: Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, YouTube Shorts, Facebook, X, Snapchat, fan clubs, and more
• Running 2–4 additional accounts on various platforms
• Creating platform-native content with a clear understanding of social trends, internet speak, and modern digital culture
• Basic video editing is required with an understanding of visual identity and platform specifications
• Identifying and contacting potential collaborators and brand partners

Community Engagement and Management

• Owning and running our Discord (roughly 8K members), engagement, events, keeping it alive and growing and assisting the mod team
• Managing our Reddit presence and other community-led spaces
• Actively engaging with fans across all platforms via comments and DMs
• Identifying and highlighting fan-led projects (fan art, fan edits)

YOU'RE A FIT IF YOU

• Are highly creative and are thrive working in an entrepreneurial environment
• A genuine enjoyment of engaging with fans in comment sections, DMs, and online spaces
• Bring fluency in social media trends and internet culture across multiple platforms
• Have basic video editing skills
• Bring Discord moderation/community management experience
• Bonus if you have an interest in music, gaming, and/or anime
