About The Opportunity
Our Public Sector client is seeking up to three (3) Intermediate Business Process Consultants to support a comprehensive process-mapping and business process redesign initiative within a registry operations environment.
The successful consultants will work closely with operational staff to document current-state workflows, assess existing processes and organizational structures, identify inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement, and support the development of future-state process designs and an implementation roadmap.
This opportunity is well suited to business process professionals with hands-on experience facilitating interviews and workshops, mapping operational processes, analyzing service delivery workflows, and recommending practical improvements to optimize efficiency, accountability, flexibility, and outcomes.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Map current “as-is” registry processes with staff using industry standard process-mapping techniques
- Document workflows, inputs and outputs, dependencies, accountability points, and decision points
- Validate documented workflows with registry staff
- Review and assess current work processes, procedures, and organizational structure to identify inefficiencies, redundancies, and opportunities for improvement
- Assess current roles, responsibilities, hand-offs, and decision points
- Validate the current state of registry operations with operational staff
- Analyze existing processes to identify opportunities for improvement
- Identify optimal redesign options based on efficiency, effectiveness, flexibility, and service impact
- Develop and map recommended future-state “to-be” processes
- Identify required changes to processes, workflows, roles, responsibilities, and controls
- Ensure redesigned processes are focused, measurable, flexible, and outcome driven
- Identify enabling factors such as governance, tools, training, and change management considerations
- Identify phased implementation steps with key milestones, roles, and responsibilities for execution
- Identify next steps and options for implementation
About You
The successful candidate will have the following:
- Experience working on three (3) projects involving process mapping and operational review, including documenting current-state workflows, identifying inefficiencies, facilitating workshops or interviews, and developing future-state processes to improve and streamline service delivery
- Experience documenting workflows, inputs, outputs, dependencies, accountability points, hand-offs, decision points, and process controls
- Experience using structured process improvement or process mapping methodologies, such as BPMN, Lean, Six Sigma, stakeholder workshops, or stakeholder interviews
- Experience identifying inefficiencies, redundancies, gaps, risks, and opportunities for business process improvement
- Strong written communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear documentation, process maps, assessment summaries, and improvement recommendations
- Ability to work with staff and stakeholders in both in-person and virtual settings
About the Job
- Contract duration: From contract award to March 31, 2027
- Estimated level of effort: 80 days
- Work Arrangement: Hybrid. In-person in the National Capital Region for process mapping activities, including interviews, workshops, and side-by-side meetings with staff. Post-process mapping meetings may be conducted either in person or virtually, depending on operational requirements. Remaining work may be performed remotely.
