Job Title: Electrical Engineer

Location: Calgary or Edmonton, AB

Length: 1 Year (with potential extension)

Rotation: 3 days in office (Mon/Tues/Thurs) and 2 days remote (Wed/Friday)

Role Summary

The Senior Engineer oversees the design of expansion and maintenance capital projects executed by Engineering service providers. This role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, Enbridge specifications, and operational reliability standards, while delivering projects within budget and schedule. The Senior Engineer collaborates closely with stakeholders to interpret requirements and enable competitive, effective project execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and manage relationships and contracts with Engineering service providers
  • Lead design review processes with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, applicable codes, and Enbridge standards, including process hazard, operability, and constructability considerations
  • Manage material specification and requisition by reviewing vendor quotations, evaluating technical bids, and recommending awards based on technical merit, cost, and delivery; collaborate with Supply Chain for procurement
  • Provide planning and scheduling support for design and procurement phases
  • Deliver technical support across all project phases, including development, construction, and commissioning
  • Ensure engineering firms incorporate redline markups into final as-built drawings
  • Support development of project scope, schedule, capital cost estimates, execution plans, risks, and related documentation during early project phases
  • Assist Operations with incident investigations following project handover
  • Review and incorporate lessons learned from previous projects into future designs
  • Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and peers
  • Support departmental initiatives and ensure compliance with regulatory and internal requirements

  • Provides technical leadership across multiple projects to meet safety, cost, schedule, and quality objectives

  • Contributes to operational reliability, risk mitigation, and technical excellence

Qualifications

Required

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in engineering system design and commissioning within the Oil & Gas industry
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (or equivalent) from an accredited institution
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation
  • Strong communication skills and ability to operate independently as a professional engineer
  • Proven planning, organizational, problem-solving, decision-making, and negotiation skills with strong practical aptitude

  • Extensive project management and/or field experience
  • Demonstrated ability to innovate, initiate, and manage change
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and prioritize effectively
  • Strong capability to resolve complex technical and business challenges
  • Awareness of cross-functional stakeholder relationships
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
