Ownership Design Group

Full-time · Remote (Canada, EST core hours) · $55,000 – $65,000 · Employee-owned

Ownership Design Group helps Canadian business owners transition their companies to their employees. We design employee ownership transitions, through Employee Ownership Trusts, ESOPs, and related structures, that hold up long after the deal closes. We are a small, growing advisory firm, and we are investing in the platform, programs, and systems that will let us serve more owners well. We are also employee owned ourselves because we believe in this work enough to live it.

About the role

We are growing our offerings and the infrastructure behind them, and we need someone to help us build, launch, and run that work.

This is a broad, hands-on role for someone early in their career who is genuinely self-driven and wants to grow fast. You will create content, manage our CRM and help convert leads, support our online learning platform, and keep our operations running smoothly. You will not do any one of these in isolation; you will move between them as the work demands, which is exactly what makes this role a rare opportunity to learn the whole engine of a growing business.

You will work closely with our founder. We care more about mindset, judgment, and drive than about years on a resume. If you are the kind of person who figures things out, takes ownership without being asked twice, and likes building something from the ground up, we want to hear from you.

What you'll do

● Help build and launch our programs and offerings: take ideas from concept to live, by assembling the pieces, setting up the platform, and managing the moving parts through to launch.

● Create content: write and adapt material across formats, learning and program content, email sequences, social and LinkedIn posts, and supporting resources, in our voice. You do not need to be a published writer, but you should be a clear, confident one who can take a rough idea and make it land.

● Own the CRM and help close leads: manage our HubSpot pipeline, keep it clean and current, run lead nurture sequences, and play an active part in moving prospects from first contact to signed engagement. Experience using HubSpot to actually convert leads, not just store them, is a real plus.

● Support the learning platform: help configure, manage, and improve our online learning and community environment, including member access, content setup, onboarding flows, and day-to-day running once it is live.

● Keep operations running: build and maintain the simple systems, SOPs, and automations that keep a small firm efficient. Spot friction and fix it. Own onboarding for new clients and participants so the experience is consistent.

● Measure and report: track what is working, pipeline, conversion, engagement, attendance, and help us see it clearly.

Who you are

Demonstrably self-driven; you manage yourself and your work without close supervision.

Comfortable wearing many hats in a small, fast-moving organization.

A clear, capable writer who can create content across formats.

Some hands-on experience with HubSpot or a similar CRM, ideally including a role in converting or nurturing leads.

Some experience with a learning management or community platform (Disco, Thinkific, Circle, Teachable, Kajabi, or similar).

Organized, with an instinct for building systems and removing friction.

Curious about business, ownership, and the mission of helping companies stay in their people's hands.

Nice to have, not required

Experience in professional services, economic development, entrepreneurship support, or a mission-driven organization.

Familiarity with automation tools (Zapier, Make).

Interest in employee ownership, succession, or community wealth.

What we offer

● Compensation: a salary of $55,000 to $65,000, based on experience.

● Health Spending Account: a flexible HSA to put toward the health and wellness needs that matter most to you.

● Remote by default: work from anywhere in Canada, with core working hours on Eastern Time so the team stays connected.

● 3-weeks paid vacation plus Christmas closure

● A path to ownership: as an employee-owned company, we offer the people who help build this business the genuine opportunity to become owners of it.

Why this role is worth it

You will learn how a growing advisory firm actually works, from lead to delivery to platform, and you will have real ownership of things that matter from day one. For the right person, this is a launchpad: a chance to build genuine breadth across content, revenue, platform, and operations, working directly with a founder who has spent two decades in this field.

And we mean ownership in the fullest sense. As an employee-owned company, the work you do here would not just grow the firm; over time, it could grow your own stake in it.

How to apply

If this sounds like you, we would love to hear from you. Tell us a little about yourself, why this role appeals to you, and share anything (a resume, a portfolio, a project you are proud of) that helps us see how you work.
