Learning Support Teacher at
Roland Michener Secondary School is located in the town of Slave Lake in northern Alberta, in the Municipal District of Lesser Slave River. It is located 257 km north of Edmonton on the southeast shore of Lesser Slave Lake at the junction of Highway 2 and Highway 88.
Roland Michener Secondary School is a Grade 7 to 12 school with an enrollment of approximately 620 students and 60 staff. The role of the learning support teacher consists of, but is not limited to:
- Delivery and interpretation of Level B assessments, and ensuring other required assessments are completed, stored properly, and results are shared appropriately
- Facilitating meetings between student service providers, teachers, parents, educational assistants and others as necessary
- Creating, modeling, and implementing lessons, professional development sessions, and consistent coaching that promotes inclusive best practices for teachers and educational assistants
- Facilitating collaboration meetings and developing/implementing continuums of supports
- Ensuring accurate development and implementation of IPPs and ISPs
Requirements
- Candidates must have completed a Bachelor of Education Degree
- Must have (or be eligible to obtain) an Alberta Teaching Certificate or proof of application from .
- TQS or proof of application from the Alberta Teachers’ Association.
- Successful candidates must produce an ORIGINAL, acceptable, recent (less than six months old)
