WAGE RANGE: $36.84 TO $50.24 PER HOUR

POSITION OBJECTIVE

Working to promote Imaging excellence, quality patient/client-centred care and high professional standards, the Registered Technologist (MRT (R) will be responsible for the patient assessment, exam completion, documentation and evaluation of images. The objective of the Registered Technologist is to provide safe and competent exams through the application of imaging knowledge, the technical aspects of professional practice and the demonstration of compassion, professionalism and respect. This position will rotate between Welland and Port Colborne sites.

QUALIFICATIONS

o Graduate of an accredited Medical Radiation Technology Program in Radiology

o Current registration with the College of Medical Radiation Technologists of Ontario in Radiology M.R.T(R)

o Two years radiology experience in the past five years in a similar hospital setting

o Demonstrated knowledge and skill in the production and assessment of diagnostic radiographs

o Demonstrated commitment to continuing education and professional development

o Applies knowledge, skills, judgment and competencies required for safe, independent and inter-disciplinary practice by meeting medical radiation practice standards as outlined by the College of Medical Radiation Technologists of Ontario

o Previous experience in CT or General Radiography is required. Willingness to train and provide coverage in both modalities is expected. Experience in both modalities is considered an asset

o Applies Niagara Health values and professional practice standards to patient/client care and service

o Integrates reflection, critical thinking, education and relevant practical experience in problem solving

o Working knowledge of Hospital and Diagnostic Imaging Information and Imaging Systems and other related computer systems

o Must be available for all shifts, vacation replacement, sick, paid holidays and call backs

o Consistent and regular attendance required
