Sea Site Technician

Applicants with aquaculture experience and/or relevant post-secondary education will be given preference, as we are a company that embraces constant learning and industry professionalism. The ability to get along with a wide variety of people from different backgrounds and cultures is paramount. Successful applicants must be able to work in challenging weather conditions and have a passion for taking care of animals.

Responsibilities

• Feeding and performing all other required care for our fish
• Cleaning, power-washing, and sanitizing to ensure a pristine environment for our fish and our employees
• Ensuring accurate reporting, record-keeping, and document management
• Conducting environmental sampling and plankton monitoring using specialized technology and equipment
• Assisting with fish health sampling, and grading fish by size
• Monitoring fish behaviour, appearance, and health
• Operating a forklift and other site equipment when authorized and trained

• Camp shift of 8 days on and 6 days off

• Transportation from our Campbell River marshalling point

Wage: $25.61 to $29.10 / hour
