WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

The Senior Manager – Validation & Technology Transfer (VTT) is accountable for leading and owning the Validation and Technology Transfer function, ensuring all validation and technology transfer activities are planned, prioritized, executed, and completed successfully in alignment with company procedures, project timelines, and applicable regulatory requirements in Canada. This role is responsible for driving execution excellence, ensuring deliverables are completed on time, risks are proactively identified and mitigated, and cross-functional stakeholders remain aligned throughout the commercialization process.

This role leads the end-to-end validation strategy and execution for process, packaging, cleaning, and equipment qualification. It is responsible for scaling products from pilot batches—after R&D validation—to commercial manufacturing, ensuring the scale-up is robust, compliant, efficient, and delivered on time.

This position partners closely with cross-functional teams, including R&D, Manufacturing , Quality, Engineering, and Supply Chain, to drive alignment, accountability, and the successful and on time execution of new product launches from development through commercial manufacturing at DECIEM.

This is a full-time and permanent position that is based out of our Manufacturing Facility in Etobicoke. This position requires candidates to be on-site, 5-days a week.

PAY RANGE

The anticipated base salary for this position is $100,000 to $120,000.

Exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. Salary range may vary based on geographic location.

WHAT YOU’D BE DOING IN THIS ROLE

  • Own and lead end-to-end technology transfer activities from pilot-scale processes through commercial manufacturing, ensuring successful execution, process scalability, robustness, reproducibility, and on-time commercialization of new products.
  • Drive the development and execution of the validation master plan, including risk assessments, fit-gap analysis, troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
  • Provide strategic and operational leadership for Cleaning Validation activities, including protocol design, sampling plans, acceptance criteria, execution oversight, and final reporting, while ensuring compliance with cGMP, regulatory requirements, and internal quality standards.
  • Own the cleaning and equipment validation master plan for capital projects and NPD/EPD initiatives at Eastside Facility.
  • Lead continuous improvement of technology transfer templates, validation methodologies, and operational best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with cGMP, FDA, Health Canada regulations, and data integrity standards while maintaining audit and inspection readiness.
  • Partner cross-functionally with R&D, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to ensure successful product commercialization
  • Provide technical leadership during investigations, troubleshooting activities, and root cause analysis initiatives
  • Oversee the equipment qualification activities including IQ, OQ, and PQ.
  • Ensure the successful and timely execution of packaging validation activities, including Form, Fill, Function (FFF), line trials, transport testing, and process validation (PPQ)
  • Lead and oversee cleaning validation activities, including Cleaning Studies, Cleaning Verification, and Cleaning Validation, ensuring effective execution, compliance, and operational readiness.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED TO GET THE JOB DONE

  • B.S. Degree in Engineering or a scientific discipline and Minimum of 8 years of experience in validation, process scale-up, or related functions (e.g., VTT, MS&T, process development, product stewardship) within cosmetics or pharmaceutical industries.
  • Strong process equipment expertise in FMCG manufacturing, with deep technical knowledge of mixing, filling, and assembly technologies
  • In-depth understanding and application of industry standards, FDA, ICH, Health Canada, and cGMP guidelines
  • Expertise in reviewing and writing technical reports. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven leadership experience, with the ability to manage and inspire a team, foster collaboration, and mentor rising talent.
