The Human Resources & Recruitment Coordinator plays a key role in supporting core HR activities, programs, and processes in collaboration with our operations team at MHNL and Newfoundland and Labrador Health Services (NLHS). This position focuses primarily on managing the complete end-to-end recruitment process for unionized employees within defined timelines.
Working closely with NLHS, you will coordinate all aspects of recruitment, including tracking and monitoring candidate information, facilitating selection and hiring for unionized paramedicine, medical transport, and medical communications employees.
Key Responsibilities
Human Resources Duties
- Maintain and update our Human Capital Management System (HCMS) for activities such as new hires, job changes, wage adjustments, terminations, and leaves of absence in a multi-unionized environment.
- Collaborate with leaders, payroll, and administrative staff to ensure accurate and timely data entry.
- Coordinate and maintain employee records and documentation.
- Respond to inquiries from employees and external stakeholders.
- Support the effective use and maintenance of HR systems and databases.
- Assist with accurate payroll preparation.
- Participate in termination processes, including exit interviews and file closure.
- Perform other HR-related duties as required.
Recruitment Duties
- Develop and post job advertisements on NLHS’s ServiceNow and other relevant platforms.
- Track and monitor candidate information throughout the recruitment cycle.
- Review and shortlist resumes.
- Schedule and participate in interviews with hiring leaders.
- Maintain recruitment calendars and coordinate scheduling.
- Complete all pre-employment checks and testing.
Qualifications & Competencies
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in an administrative role supporting high-volume operations; recruitment experience preferred.
- Solid understanding of HR practices, policies, and procedures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with HCMS required; familiarity with NLHS’s ServiceNow strongly preferred.

Salary Range
- $45,095 to $50,731

The Base Pay range may vary depending on the successful candidate or other relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience and education/training. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Medavie employees may participate in various performance-based incentive programs. Payments under these programs are discretionary and subject to both individual and organizational results.
