THE OPPORTUNITY

As a Regional Accounting Manager, you will lead the day-to-day accounting operations for the region while serving as a trusted business partner to Regional General Managers and department leaders. You will oversee accounting office functions, provide financial analysis and KPI reporting, support budgeting and operational planning, and help ensure accuracy and integrity of regional financial reporting.

This role plays a key part in supporting dealership operations by providing financial insight, maintaining strong accounting controls, and leading accounting and administrative staff across the region.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform financial analysis on reporting including KPI analysis, trend analysis, comparisons to budgets and prior year
  • Meet with the General Managers and Department Managers on a regular basis to review the financial statements
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and development to accounting and administrative staff
  • Assist with the preparation of budgets, expense allocation, and other annual benchmarks
  • Serve as advisor to and strategic partner with the General Managers supporting business decisions related to forecasting, operational performance, and profit improvement initiatives
  • Perform regular reconciliations for balance sheet items related to the region
  • Oversees dealership deal file compliance and controls to ensure transactions are processed accurately and in accordance with company policies. Liaise between Head Office accounting staff and Regional Managers
  • Provide monthly reports and status updates to Head Office accounting staff and Controller
  • Review trade accounts receivable to ensure customer disputes are handled in a timely fashion

WHAT WE LOOK FOR

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. CPA designation is preferred
  • 5+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Demonstrated experience leading, coaching, and developing accounting or administrative teams. Advanced accounting knowledge including ability to prepare, analyze and interpret financial reports
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Experience with data analytics tools (eg. power BI) preferred
  • Great interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to exercise a high level of judgement and discretion
  • Excellent time management with the demonstrated ability to effectively manage leadership responsibilities
  • Ability to travel periodically within the region as required
