Senior Law Clerk

A skilled corporate/estates law clerk is desired for a busy corporate/estate planning practice in Brantford, Ontario. This is an in-office role. Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience ($60,000.00-$70,000.00).

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with estate planning matters including initial preparation of documents, file maintenance, etc.
  • Assist with corporate law matters including incorporations, acquisitions, dissolutions, amendments, and reorganizations, by preparing and filing forms, coordinating signings, assembling and maintaining minute books
  • File Management: Open, maintain, and organize electronic and physical files.
  • Docketing & Billing: Assist with account generation and billing.

Qualifications

Required:

  • 3+ years experience as a corporate or estates law clerk/assistant.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite programs (word, excel, teams, outlook)
  • Excellent communication and client service skills.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality.

Preferred:

  • Familiarity with legal software such as LEAP, Appara/Minutebox, Adobe Acrobat, Pactima, Docusign.
  • Legal Assistant Certificate, Law Clerk Certificate, Bachelor Degree in Paralegal Studies, Administration, or other relevant education.
  • Registration as a Commissioner of Oaths or Notary Public, or willingness and ability to acquire
