We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Commercial Garage Door Helper / Apprentice to join our team. ABOUT THE ROLE
We are a commercial garage door and gate company working on:
- Parking Gate Systems
- Security Fencing
- Rolling Steel Service Doors
- Rolling Steel Fire Doors
- Security Grilles
- Commercial Sectional Overhead Garage Doors
This is a physical, hands-on trade job in construction environments across the Greater Vancouver Area.
Most of our work takes place in underground parkades, where we install, service, and repair parking gates, overhead doors, rolling steel doors, and other access control systems. These environments are generally sheltered from the weather but can be dusty, noisy, and active construction or service areas.
Some projects are located near building entrances, loading bays, and other semi-exposed areas. Occasionally, we perform work fully outdoors, particularly when installing or servicing exterior gates, overhead doors, and access systems. Candidates should be comfortable working in a variety of environments and weather conditions throughout the year.
This position offers an opportunity to learn a specialized trade that is always in demand. No two days are exactly the same, and you will gain experience working on a wide variety of commercial door and gate systems.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Assist with installation and repair of commercial door systems
- Load, unload, and move materials and equipment
- Learn to use hand and power tools safely
- Follow instructions from lead technicians
- Work on job sites across Metro Vancouver
- Gradually learn full installation and service work

REQUIREMENTS
- Valid Class 5 driver's licence preferred and may be required for future advancement opportunities within the company.
- Reliable means of transportation to travel to job sites throughout the Greater Vancouver Area
- Able to lift heavy materials (60–100 lbs with assistance)
- Comfortable working at heights (Scissor Lifts) and on ladders
- Basic tool knowledge an asset
- Basic Mechanical and Electrical knowledge an asset
- Ability to understand and follow safety instructions
- Clear communication in English for job site safety
- Ability to pass criminal record checks required
WAGE & PROGRESSION
Starting wage: $22–$28/hour depending on experience, skills, qualifications, and overall fit for the position.
- 3-month probation period applies
- Performance review after probation
- Annual performance reviews thereafter
- Wage increases are based on: reliability, skill development, independence, safety, and contribution to the company
- No automatic raises based on time alone
