POSITION SUMMARY

Under the supervision of the Public Works & Parks or Utilities Manager and/or direction of the Operations Supervisor, the Operations Crew Member assists with labouring duties associated with municipal infrastructure.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

• Grade 12 or GED (General Equivalency Diploma)
• WHMIS
• Valid Class 3 BC Driver’s License with air brakes
• Experience in a similar position

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
• Familiarity with related municipal policies and procedures
• Ability to interact with other employees and the public in a tactful and courteous manner
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
• Ability to operate related equipment
• Ability to organize work
• Familiarity with City of Nelson/municipal and WorkSafeBC safety procedures
