Classification Summary - Union
Police Services Forensic Video Analyst provides forensic video analysis, ensuring work performed meets the standards for scientific acceptance in the federal and provincial court systems.
Duties - Union
- Scientifically analyzes and processes forensic video evidence at an analytical or technical level from multi-media hardware and software.
- Prepares reports and provides expert testimony in court to validate evidence.
- Provides subject-matter expertise and instruction in forensic video analysis and video evidence.
- Operates, maintains, researches, tests, and recommends specialized multi-media hardware and software.
- Visits various sites to retrieve evidence.
- Views imagery of a sensitive, graphic and disturbing nature while carrying out duties, sometimes for prolonged periods of time.
- Knowledge of organizational policies and procedures in relation to exhibit handling.
- Knowledge of forensic terminology.

- Two-year Diploma in a related discipline (i.e. Video/Digital production and editing, television production)
- Certified Forensic Video Analyst (CFVA) program through LEVA
- Experience
- RCMP Enhanced Security Clearance
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
