As a growing organization serving customers across international markets, we are looking for an experienced Financial Controller to help strengthen our financial operations and support our continued growth.
Role Overview
As Financial Controller, you will oversee all aspects of financial accounting and reporting while supporting budgeting, forecasting, compliance, and strategic financial planning initiatives. This role works closely with leadership to provide financial insights, improve operational efficiency, and support strategic decision-making across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Manage the general ledger and ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end close processes
- Develop, monitor, and analyse budgets, forecasts, and financial performance
- Conduct variance analysis and provide recommendations to improve profitability and operational efficiency
- Deliver financial reporting and insights to support business planning and decision-making
- Ensure compliance with Canadian accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal control requirements
- Coordinate external audits and manage relationships with auditors and advisors
- Monitor cash flow, working capital, and financial planning activities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support operational and growth initiatives
- Identify opportunities to improve financial systems, reporting processes, and controls
Qualifications
- Strong accounting foundation with hands-on experience preparing and reviewing financial statements
- CPA designation (or equivalent) preferred, with previous experience as a Controller, Senior Accountant, or similar finance leadership role
- Advanced financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and analytical skills
- Strong understanding of Canadian accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal controls
- Experience with NetSuite is highly preferred
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and time management skills
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders
- Experience within manufacturing, food, beverage, wellness, nutrition, or consumer packaged goods (CPG) industries is considered an asset
