POSITION SUMMARY
The Set-Up technician is responsible for troubleshooting molding processes, supporting production efficiency, and maintaining high standards of safety and quality. The ideal candidate possesses strong problem-solving, communication, and technical skills.
Responsible for
- Managing and directing resources to tackle technical issues that arise during the shift that results in meeting safety, quality and delivery targets
- Fostering a working environment that is fair, equitable and driven to continuous improvements
- Setting, starting up and troubleshooting moulding machines for production runs
- Providing support to the Shift Supervisor
- Following and complying with Cube Management System (CMS)
Duties
- Set up and start up injection moulding machines
- Complete mould and insert changes
- Follow-up, trouble-shoot and adjust processes for any quality issues, including flash, long gates, warping, blooming, witness marks, cloudiness, etc.
- Identify and communicate mould/machine problems to Shift Supervisor and Maintenance Technicians
- Maintenance and storage of moulds and inserts (tooling)
- Assist Shift Supervisors as required – training of new staff, incident investigations and audits to determine root causes and corrective actions
- Communicate with previous and next shift to understand any technical or quality issues
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge/Qualifications
- High School Graduate
- Vocational school an asset
- 5 years minimum of technical experience in injection moulding
- Working knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics
- Basic tooling background an asset
- Demonstrated ability to solve problems and produce results
- Communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
- Crane, and forklift certification required

- Must be able to speak, read and write English
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must have full range of motion
- Must be able to sit, stand/walk for long periods of time
- Must be able to bend, twist and lift up to 30lbs
- Able to work 12 hour rotating continental shifts
