As part of the Enterprise Project Management office, the Project Specialist is responsible for managing projects that directly support departmental objectives and the organization’s strategic priorities. This role ensures that project scope is clearly defined, budgets and forecasts are aligned, and procurement and workforce resources are effectively planned and coordinated to achieve successful outcomes.
Key functions include
- Lead and manage all aspects of assigned projects from initiation to completion
- Coordinate and oversee the activities of project team members to ensure alignment with project objectives
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project execution plans, including scope definition, scheduling, and budgeting, incorporating input from relevant stakeholders as required
Our ideal teammate will have
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related technical degree or two-year diploma in Information Technology related area (candidates with a diploma must have an additional two (2) years of relevant experience)
- Eight years of related experience with Five years managing projects; project controls related work
- A CAPM or PMP designation or progressing towards acquiring designation or other Project Management Certification
- Knowledge of standard Project Management methods and tools
- Experience with Microsoft Project or Primavera P6, Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio, and SharePoint
An equivalent combination of training and experience will be considered. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be modified.
An Eligibility List generated from this competition may be used to fill future vacancies at the same level within a period of up to 12 months.
