Role Overview
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director provides strategic and day-to-day leadership for Langley Community Health & Hospital Foundation, helping ensure our community has the resources to meet Langley's health needs.
The Executive Director is accountable for fundraising results, community presence and long-term sustainability, and serves as a trusted connector between donors, local business and community leaders, Fraser Health, government partners and the Board, championing care in Langley, at the hospital and across the community.
What You Will Lead
Community, Business & Donor Engagement
- Act as the Foundation's lead ambassador in the community
- Build meaningful relationships with Board members, donors, business leaders, service clubs and community partners
- Communicate how philanthropic investment strengthens health care and wellness in Langley
- Support tax-effective and impact-driven giving that reflects local priorities
- Position the Foundation as a trusted partner in community health
Fundraising, Campaigns & Philanthropic Strategy
- Provide executive oversight and leadership for all fundraising programs and lead to completion
- Translate approved hospital and community health needs into fundable priorities
- Lead and support major and capital fundraising campaigns, including donor engagement, campaign readiness and governance
- Personally cultivate and steward major, leadership and campaign donors
- Partner with staff and the Board to grow and diversity philanthropic support
- Ensure donors understand the impact of their giving through strong stewardship and reporting
Board Partnership & Leadership
- Work closely with the Board Chair and Directors to support effective governance
- Engage Board members as ambassadors, advocates and community connectors
- Leverage Board expertise and relationships to advance fundraising and partnerships
- Support Board recruitment, orientation and ongoing development
Advocacy & External Relationships
- Build constructive relationships with municipal and provincial government officials
- Advocate for hospital, community health and wellness priorities
- Represent the Foundation in public and regional forums
- Align advocacy efforts with Fraser Health and local health care partners
Health System & Community Alignment
- Work in close partnership with Fraser Health and hospital leadership
- Support care beyond the hospital by strengthening partnerships across the community
Organizational & Financial Leadership
- Oversee financial management, compliance and reporting with transparency and integrity
- Ensure strong internal controls and operational practices
- Lead and support a skilled, committed team
- Foster a collaborative, inclusive culture rooted in purpose and community focus
Key Accountabilities
- Advance the Foundation's mission, vision and strategic priorities through an annual plan with clear goals, measurable progress and a Langley-first focus
- Drive sustainable fundraising performance that supports urgent needs, strengthens local health care over the long term and reflects Board-approved priorities
- Build trust through transparent, impact-driven stewardship - ensuring donors can see and feel the difference their giving means in Langley
- Strengthen Board effectiveness through strong governance support, thoughtful collaboration and timely, decision-ready information
- Ensure responsible financial stewardship, risk management and operational excellence that reflect the highest standards of integrity and accountability
- Lead with empathy to build a healthy, inclusive and high-performing team culture - grounded in purpose, partnership and community impact
Experience & Qualifications
- Preferably five years' experience as a senior leader in a hospital foundation, health care philanthropy or a complex nonprofit organization. Candidates with other executive leadership experience that meet the overall criteria will also be considered
- Demonstrated experience leading or contributing to major and/or capital fundraising campaigns
- Proven success with major gift fundraising and donor relationship management
- Experience working collaboratively with a volunteer Board of Directors
- Strong financial and operational leadership experience

Reporting Relationship
Reports to: Board of Directors
Leads: Senior leaders across fundraising, communications, finance and operations
Salary range: $150,000-$200,000 annually, based on qualifications/experience
