Facility Services Operator I Position Overview

The Sunshine Coast Regional District (SCRD) is currently inviting applications for the part-time position of Facility Services Operator I to perform operational, maintenance, and safety-related duties for arenas and aquatic facilities operated by the SCRD. This role supports safe, efficient, and well-maintained facilities through routine inspections, minor maintenance, equipment operation, and customer service. Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive compensation package as soon as you join us! Immediately upon hire this position includes an additional $3.05 per hour cash-in-lieu of benefits, offers pro-rated vacation at 6%, and pro-rated sick leave. After 30 days of employment the wage rate will then expand to include an additional 5% in lieu of statutory holiday pay. The SCRD also provides for eye exams and eyewear, on a pro-rated basis, for the hours worked and offers free confidential counselling services through an Employee Family Assistance Program.

The Facility Services Operator I is a bargaining unit position with a wage rate of $35.38 per hour. This part-time position is expected to consist of up to 16 hours per week, though hours may vary seasonally. Please note: Schedules may include weekend and early morning and evening hours and incumbents must be able to work at locations in Gibsons and Sechelt. This appointment is subject to a satisfactory RCMP Police Information Check including vulnerable sector check.
