Site Superintendent
Parker Huggett - A Division of LRO Staffing
Site Superintendent - Permanent - 3236
About the Opportunity
We are partnering with an established ICI general contractor on a confidential search for a Site Superintendent to lead field operations across the Calgary and Red Deer corridor. This is a builder known for a genuinely collaborative way of working, where the site team has a real voice in how the work gets planned and sequenced, not a crew handed a sealed set of drawings and told to make the dates. A steady pipeline of institutional, commercial, and industrial work through central Alberta means the right superintendent runs quality projects close to home, instead of chasing rotations or out-of-province postings.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Own the site from mobilization through to turnover and closeout, with schedule, sequencing, quality, and safety yours to run day to day
- Lead the field directly: direct trade partners and self-perform crews, set the short-interval plan, and keep the critical path honest
- Get into the planning conversations early, where a superintendent’s read on constructability changes the plan rather than inheriting decisions already locked
- Own site safety in practice, not just on paper: daily expectations, hazard assessments, and a crew that goes home the way it showed up
- Run quality and deficiency tracking so handover is clean and the owner walks into a finished building, not a punch list
- Work across projects in the Calgary and Red Deer corridor, partnering with the project manager and the owner’s representatives on site
About You
The successful candidate will have the following:
- Eight or more years running ICI sites as a superintendent, from groundbreak through turnover, on commercial, institutional, or industrial builds
- A trades or technical background and the standing that comes with it; crews respect your call because you have done the work
- You own the schedule and short-interval planning, and you call a problem before it shows up on the three-week look-ahead
- A safety record you can speak to with specifics, ideally with COR-aligned site experience
- Willing to work across the Calgary and Red Deer corridor, with reliable transportation
- Gold Seal certification, CCA, or equivalent is an asset, not a requirement
About the Job
Permanent, full-time, site-based across the Calgary and Red Deer corridor. Competitive base salary in the range of $120,000 to $150,000, commensurate with experience, plus a vehicle or truck allowance.
Full health and dental benefits and the rest of the package will be confirmed through the interview process. Above all, this is a builder where the field is part of how projects get planned, not just where they get executed.
