Speech Language Pathologist Assistant

Living Waters Catholic Schools invites applications for a Full-time (1.0 FTE) Speech Language Pathologist Assistant to work in our three communities of Whitecourt, Edson, and Slave Lake for the 2026-2027 School Year, commencing August 24, 2026.

Successful candidate responsibilities

  • Provides targeted, and individualized supports and services in all eight divisional schools under the direction of the Speech Language Pathologist
  • Supports and develops a strength-based model of services.
  • Promotes engagement and participation in literacy and numeracy by reducing barriers to learning.
  • Collaborates with the members of the inclusive education team at each school.
  • Delivers supports and services in the Division's geographic areas: Whitecourt ( Ecole St. Anne School (JK-3), Ecole St. Mary School (4-6) and Ecole St. Joseph School (7-12); Across the Waters Outreach (7-12), Edson (Vanier Community Catholic School (JK-6) and Holy Redeemer High School (Gr. 7-12) and Slave Lake (St. Mary of the Lake (JK-6) and St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Academy (7-12).

To work with Living Waters Catholic Schools, you must:

  • Provide a current criminal record/vulnerable sector check
  • Have experience working with school-aged children and youth
  • Able to work well both independently and collaboratively
  • Educational background with course work specific to child development
  • Prefer a candidate with a completed Therapy Assistant program from an accredited institution.
  • Able to follow written directions
  • Excellent English communication skills
  • A valid driver's license and reliable vehicle;
  • A willingness to travel between locations.
  • Have a valid driver's license
  • Be available and willing to travel to the three communities of Whitecourt, Edson, and Slave Lake.
  • Have access to a vehicle

Wage

  • District pay grid

Start Date

  • August 24, 2026 or a date mutually agreed upon
