Reporting to the Vice President, Clinical Programs and Capacity, Access & Flow, the Director, Capacity, Access & Flow – Toronto Region will lead regional strategies that improve patient access, strengthen system capacity and support better flow across hospital and community care. This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for a systems thinker who can translate data, partnerships and strategy into sustainable improvements for patients, providers and communities.

Here Is What You Will Be Doing

  • Working closely with the Vice President, Clinical Programs and Capacity, Access & Flow, you will provide strategic leadership across the Toronto Region by:
  • Leading the development, implementation and evaluation of regional capacity, access and flow strategies that improve system performance and patient experience.
  • Using provincial and regional data to identify trends, barriers, gaps and opportunities, and translating insights into practical action plans.
  • Building strong partnerships with hospitals, community providers, Ontario Health Teams and internal teams to align initiatives and advance shared system priorities.
  • Championing innovative programs, partnerships and improvement opportunities that increase clinical capacity and support better flow across the health system.
  • Representing the Toronto Region at key planning and coordination tables, helping shape priorities, best practices and resource decisions.

Education And Experience

Here is what you will need to be successful:

  • Master’s degree in health administration, business administration, or a related field.
  • Clinical experience is considered an asset.
  • Eight or more years of progressive leadership experience within a complex clinical or healthcare environment.
  • Demonstrated experience leading, developing, and supporting teams via projects, programs and/or people leadership.
  • Strong conceptual and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to adapt plans, identify continuous improvement opportunities, and operate effectively within a complex and evolving environment.

Knowledge And Skills

  • Strong understanding of local health system priorities, supported by awareness of broader healthcare policy, trends, and system developments.
  • Proven ability to lead complex, large-scale change initiatives and deliver multiple projects within demanding timelines.
  • Expertise in quality improvement, performance improvement, and change management methodologies, with the ability to apply leading practices in practical ways.
  • Strategic and analytical thinker who uses data, technology, and evidence to inform decisions and drive innovative solutions.
  • Exception relationship-building skills and the ability to engage, develop, and mobilize teams across the organization and with external partners
  • Skilled negotiator and collaborative decision-maker who can navigate complex issues and competing priorities effectively.
  • Strong facilitator, trainer, and presenter with the ability to communicate complex information clearly and persuasively.
  • Advanced training in patient flow, healthcare improvement, project management, or change management is considered an asset.
