We're looking for an Accounting & Office Manager to own the financial and operational heartbeat of our Calgary office.

This is a unique opportunity for someone who enjoys both accounting and operations. You'll manage the day-to-day financial processes that keep our business moving while playing a key role in the overall employee and client experience. Over time, you'll also gain exposure to Canada's SR&ED tax incentive program, developing specialized expertise that will make you increasingly valuable as your career grows.

You'll work closely with our Controller, Finance team, Marketing, COO and the President, contributing not just to execution, but to how we improve and scale the business.

What You'll Do

Own Our Day-to-Day Accounting

Working alongside our Controller, you'll help maintain accurate, timely, and reliable financial records across the business.

Responsibilities include:

  • Accounts payable, including vendor invoices, employee expenses, and payment processing
  • Accounts receivable, including client setup, invoicing, collections, and reporting
  • Payroll administration and support
  • Bank, credit card, and account reconciliations
  • Journal entries and bookkeeping activities
  • Month-end and year-end close support
  • Coordination with external accountants and advisors
  • Cash flow tracking and reporting

Learn and Support SR&ED Claims

One of the most unique aspects of this role is the opportunity to develop expertise in Canada's SR&ED program.

You'll support our Finance team by:

  • Reviewing timesheets, invoices, and supporting documentation
  • Assisting with claim preparation and financial analysis
  • Supporting client invoicing and project administration
  • Maintaining documentation and compliance requirements
  • Staying current on program updates and CRA changes

No prior SR&ED experience is required. We'll provide the training and support needed to help you build this highly sought-after skill set.

Keep the Office Running Smoothly

You'll help create an organized, professional environment for employees and clients alike.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing office vendors, supplies, and facilities
  • Coordinating onboarding and offboarding activities
  • Maintaining employee records and administrative documentation
  • Supporting basic IT administration and troubleshooting
  • Assisting executive leadership with scheduling, coordination, and follow-up activities
  • Identifying opportunities to improve systems, workflows, and processes
  • Coordinating marketing activities, events and promotions

What We're Looking For

  • Experience managing full-cycle accounting in a professional environment
  • Strong understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, bookkeeping, and month-end processes
  • Experience with QuickBooks, Scoro, or similar business systems is an asset
  • Previous office management or operations experience
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, Excel, and Word
  • Professional judgment and discretion when handling confidential information

Compensation & Benefits

Salary: $75,000 - $95,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
