Onyx Fire Protection Inc. is a leading fire protection contractor delivering service, retrofit, and large-scale construction projects across Ontario. We specialize in sprinkler systems, fire alarm systems, and life-safety solutions for commercial, industrial, institutional, and mission-critical facilities.

We are seeking an entry-level Project Purchaser Coordinator to support our operations and project teams. This role plays a key part in coordinating project activities while assisting with purchasing materials required for fire alarm and life safety projects.

The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and eager to develop a career in project coordination, construction operations ,material and procurement within the fire protection industry

Responsibilities

  • Support Project Managers with day-to-day coordination of active projects
  • Assist in tracking project timelines, deliverables, and milestones
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation, including purchase orders, change orders, and internal tracking logs
  • Coordinate with internal departments (sales, operations, technicians) to ensure smooth project execution
  • Communicate with vendors and internal teams regarding project requirements and timelines
  • Attend internal project meetings and assist with meeting notes and follow-ups
  • Assist with purchasing materials, equipment, and supplies required for assigned projects
  • Create and process purchase orders in accordance with company procedures
  • Track material delivery schedules and follow up with vendors to ensure on-time delivery
  • Support inventory coordination and material allocation for job sites
  • Maintain accurate purchasing records and documentation
  • Work closely with Project Managers to align purchases with project budgets and scopes

Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in Business Administration, Construction Management, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); ERP experience an asset
  • Willingness to learn construction and fire protection project processes
  • Team-oriented mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving
