Provide oversight of engine planning and engine maintenance activities, ensuring alignment with operational priorities and business requirements. This role is responsible for developing and managing engine maintenance plans, which includes forecasting, risk assessment, and partnering with internal teams to support engine availability, operational continuity, and recovery from disruption.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the forecasting, planning, and monitoring of all engine maintenance requirements through continuous plan review, coordination with internal teams, and escalation of risks to support mitigation.
  • Partner with Engine Management and Planning teams to identify operational gaps and risks, and highlight potential mitigation options to prevent any operational disruptions.
  • Create and implement long-term plans into the schedule for maximum operational and cost benefit, while holding teams accountable for execution.
  • Partner with Planning teams to build allotments in appropriate locations and adjust with changing fleet plans.
  • Responsible for monitoring on-wing defects, advising stakeholders of risks and adjusting plans accordingly to meet priorities.
  • Partner with all internal and external stakeholders and provide timely reports for status and or changes.
  • Ensure TRAX transactions within the Engine Planning team are accomplished for compliance and financial tracking.
  • Lead and develop a team of Engine Planners, manage workloads, and align resources with operational priorities.
  • Liaise amongst Planning teams to align priorities and identify and communicate risks.
  • Develop, implement and monitor Engine Planning Key Performance Indicators to track discrepancies and action accordingly with mitigations.
  • Provide routine weekly and monthly performance reporting, as well as ad hoc reports required to support the business.
  • Develop and implement audit processes to ensure accuracy of engine forecast.
  • Define and document processes, including process maps, maintain control manual to reflect most current processes.
  • Represent Engine Planning in operations meeting and provide status of engine availability/recovery plans as required.
  • Foster collaborative working relationships with various teams.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education, or equivalent working experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in engine maintenance, or related operational environment.
  • Experience leading teams; unionized environment experience is an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., TRAX) and MS Office.
  • Excellent problem-solving, negotiation, organization and communication skills.
  • Airline operations and maintenance knowledge an asset.
  • Experience in an engine shop environment an asset.
  • Demonstrate punctuality and dependability to support overall team success in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
