Stony Plain Public Library is seeking two 8-hour Adult Pages to join our team.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Must be able to lift, push and pull library materials, bins and carts up to 50 lbs
• Must be able to bend or crouch to shelve materials
• Must be able to walk or stand for up to four hours at a time
• Experience working in a library environment is an asset

Responsibilities

• Checking in and shelving library materials accurately and efficiently
• Assisting patrons with self-checkout, locating items in the library, and using the TRAC catalogue
• Assisting with monitoring and maintaining the safety and security of the public library floor
• Assisting with maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the library space

· Demonstrates a willingness to learn new information, tasks and processes

· Communicates politely and effectively with colleagues and members of the public

· Ability to use computers in a Windows environment, including accessing library software, email and Sharepoint

Environment

· Library environment, both public floor and workroom

· Frequent interruptions and varying noise levels

Conditions of Employment

· Eligible to work in Canada.

· The successful candidate will be required to complete a Vulnerable Sector Police Records Check.

The permanent part-time positions (8 hours/week) work primarily Monday, Tuesday and Thursday and Saturdays during the day. However, shifts may vary as required by operational need.
