Opportunity

SNT is currently seeking a Senior - Intermediate Civil Engineer with 6 - 10 years experience to work in our Nelson office with a focus on Civil Engineering and Project Management skills for a variety of projects primarily located in the Kootenay and Okanagan Regions of BC. You will work with a highly specialized team working on innovative projects primarily in the recreation (front and back country), transportation, and forest sectors. We deliver projects from early concepts to final construction assurance documents. Incentive programs are offered based on both company profits and individual performance.

What We’re Looking For

You enjoy working hands-on and excel at problem solving efficiently both in the office and in the field. You will work with the project team on a wide range of design and construction projects from concept development through preliminary and detailed designs and finally through to construction and final commissioning. At times you will be working in remote areas accessed by gravel roads and/or hiking trails and be comfortable working alone with the appropriate safety precautions. Working independently and making sound decisions while communicating clearly to your team and client will be your strong asset. You will manage multiple tasks, always re-assessing priorities and delegating tasks to your support team as required. Above all, you will be committed, dependable and display a team skill that is courteous, tactful and diplomatic.

Your qualifications and strengths will include:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Licensed with EGBC as a Professional Engineer
• Familiar with Professional Practice Management Plans (PPMP)
• Inspection, Design and Construction experience with diverse types of bridge and large culvert structures and related engineering structures around creeks and rivers.
• Design and construction experience of municipal infrastructure.
• Evaluating concepts for various crossing configurations.
• Strong written communication, organizational and technology skills.
• Comfortable with being in remote outdoor environment and working alone if required.
• Implementation of safe work procedures while on construction sites or performing field work.
• A passion for engineering excellence.
