Their diverse team deliver comprehensive design solutions from preliminary 3D renderings and BIM modeling to complete structural steel and precast panel design.
Kerkhoff Engineering undertakes projects across British Columbia, Alberta, and Saskatchewan. These are primarily large commercial and industrial warehouses compromising of precast concrete wall panels, steel roof, and pile foundations.

It is situated about 100 km east of Vancouver on the south shore of the Fraser River, with a developing downtown area and a projected population growth.
About the opportunity
As a Structural Engineer, you will participate in all stages of the design and construction process, contributing to the analysis, design, and review of various commercial and industrial structures. Projects primarily comprise of precast concrete wall panels, steel roof systems, and interior structures.
This position offers opportunities for engineers at various stages of their careers. Depending on experience and qualifications, responsibilities may include project execution, technical leadership, and mentorship.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform structural design calculations and peer reviews of design work
- Provide Bluebeam/pdf drafting mark ups to the drafting department
- Review shop drawings for structural components of building systems including roof decking, structural steel, roof and floor trusses, etc.
- Conduct construction site reviews, create field reports, and resolve on-site issues
- Develop detailed drawings and specifications using Revit and structural analysis software
- Collaborate effectively with architects, contractors, and other engineers to ensure accurate project execution
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and local building codes
- Participate in internal design reviews and quality assurance processes
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and technical development within the company
What the successful candidate will bring
- Bachelor’s degree - Civil / Structural Engineering
- Registered or eligible for registration with EGBC or APEGA
- Working knowledge of Part 4 of the BC Building Code
- Familiarity with current steel, wood, concrete design codes
- Proficiency in Revit and structural analysis tools
- Strong attention to detail and project constructability
- Valid BC drivers license and access to a reliable personal vehicle
- Experience in precast concrete design and steel structures is an asset
In return, you can expect:
- Base Salary between $85,000 - $135,000 depending on experience. Those with higher expectations and experience may also be considered
