POSITION SUMMARY

Shipper/Receiver will be responsible for accurately managing inventory at designated location, and efficiently handling the movement, packaging, and loading of materials to and from shipping and receiving docks.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Load, unload, and move products from trucks and within the department.
  • Package and wrap products according to standard procedures.
  • Build crates or custom shipping packages using hand tools.
  • Inspect products based on quality standards and report any defects.
  • Follow all safety protocols and maintain housekeeping standards.
  • Ensure all shipping crates and pallets are properly loaded and secured.
  • Adhere to all documented and implemented work instructions.
  • Perform inventory counts and control materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods in the shipping area.
  • Provide direction to Material Handlers/Drivers regarding shipping and warehouse priorities.
  • Maintain and care for assigned department tools and equipment daily.
  • Report and follow up on non-conformities with the shop supervisor or relevant personnel to ensure timely correction.
  • Use the Manufacturing Information System (MIS) to generate shipping documents and bills.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL

  • Experience using warehouse material-handling equipment and following safe shipping, receiving, documentation, and warehouse system practices.
  • Valid forklift license or certification, with the ability to safely operate forklifts in a warehouse, shipping, or receiving environment is a strong asset.
  • Able to meet the physical and PPE requirements of the role, including lifting up to 50 lbs., working at heights, and wearing a respirator.
  • Eligible to work in Canada.
