Junior Analyst, Finance Transformation

The Junior Analyst, Finance Transformation reports to the Director, Finance Transformation and provides hands-on execution support across the CFO’s transformation office.

This is an entry-level role focused on the day-to-day legwork that keeps transformation initiatives moving: gathering and organizing data, documenting processes, supporting system testing, maintaining trackers, and preparing materials for review by senior team members. Working under the direction of the Director, this individual will build practical experience across finance systems, process improvement, and cross-divisional coordination. The ideal candidate is curious, detail-oriented, dependable, and eager to develop both technical and finance domain skills in a fast-moving environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Support the research and evaluation of ERP systems, automation tools, and other finance technologies by gathering vendor information, compiling comparisons, and summarizing findings for review.
  • Assist with proof-of-concept pilots and experiments: setting up test environments, executing test scripts, and logging results, issues, and observations.
  • Perform hands-on data entry, basic system configuration, and first-line troubleshooting under the direction of the Senior Analyst.
  • Maintain project trackers, status logs, meeting notes, and action-item lists to keep transformation initiatives organized and on schedule.
  • Help document current-state workflows through interviews and job shadowing, producing process maps and draft standard operating procedures.
  • Gather, organize, and quality-check business requirements and supporting documentation for review by senior team members.
  • Build and update dashboards and reports from defined data sources to track transformation progress and system adoption metrics.
  • Prepare training materials, user guides, and quick-reference resources under guidance to support change management efforts.
  • Coordinate logistics for workshops, stakeholder sessions, and vendor demonstrations, including scheduling, materials preparation, and follow-ups.
  • Conduct ad hoc data analysis, reconciliation, and validation tasks to support active transformation initiatives.
  • Continuously develop technical and finance domain skills, including ERP platforms, Power BI / Fabric, Power Query, and automation tools, to take on increasing responsibility over time.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Our Ideal Candidate

  • Post-secondary education in finance, accounting, business, information systems, data analytics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Has 1+ years of professional experience in a related field or role.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines accurately.
  • Working proficiency with spreadsheets and a demonstrated willingness to learn finance systems, reporting, and automation tools.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills suited to documentation and cross-divisional coordination.
  • A proactive, dependable, and coachable attitude, with genuine interest in finance, technology, and process improvement.

Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree or better in Finance or related field
